Sponsorship of Curtis Pritchard

Cummins Financial Advisers are proud to sponsor Curtis Pritchard in his quest to become a professional golfer. We took a trip out to Wrexham Golf Club to meet up with him, take a few photos and observe his golfing skills.

Curtis's golf journey:-

Curtis was born in 2007 with a condition called Bilateral Talipes, meaning both feet where deformed. He has had to overcome many personal obstacles in life mostly related to his Talipes. He always struggled in group sports although he's loved everything he did. Curtis has always had a keen interest in golf from a very young age and was always wanting to play crazy golf and putting. So much so that at the age of 12 he decided to pursue this hobby golf and make it his vocation in life.

Curtis lives just outside of Chester, and after looking at various golf clubs locally, Wrexham Golf Club became his choice of club – even though it is nearly 24 miles away. Wrexham has great facilities and with professional golfer Sam Griffiths and his enthusiasm for the Junior game, Curtis’ love for the sport grew. When Curtis Joined the club there where approximately 60-80 members which has now doubled to over 150 Members. Curtis is the current junior captain there after spending all of 2023 as the vice-captain. He has and continues to really enjoy carrying out these roles. As well as Sam with his unwavering support, Curtis also relies on the support of Gareth James, who is based at Torque Golf Limited in Altrincham. Gareth is also a Welsh International coach. 

In 2023 Curtis started his pathway in Golf at Myerscough College/University Preston (residential), completing a level 2 BTEC in Sports Studies and currently working towards a level 3 in Golf Studies which he is currently on target to complete. Then hopefully he will go on to the University course aiming to becoming a professional golfer in the future. There are some great experiences at Myerscough for golf study students, including working at various golf opens, meeting celebrities and caddying at some events - Curtis had the pleasure of caddying for Keith Duffy from a famous boy band recently. They also attend various development camps both in the UK and abroad, Curtis’ most recent trip being to Belek in Turkey.

Curtis started competing in local then national competitions with some great results. He went to qualify and compete in the Race2Spain European Junior Golf Tour at La Cala Resort in Spain 2024 where he came 2nd in his age group. Curtis also qualified to play in the July 2025 Champion of Champions tournament at Lough Erne which is a prestigious invitational event of over 250 junior golfers from 40 different countries across the world. Curtis has also represented Wrexham Golf Club  has played for Flintshire at County level in various events and currently plays in the Myerscough Golf Team.

Finally his favourite golfer is Min Woo Lee and he also admires Jon Rahm who is a professional golfer with Talipes, just like him.
